Gay Chat App: Open It in Your Browser, or Install the App

You do not need to download anything to start. The chat runs in your phone or computer browser. If you prefer an app, there are optional ones for Android and Windows.

✓ Free ✓ Nickname only ✓ Works in your browser

Join the gay chat

Choose a nickname and come in. No email, no password.

Please choose a nickname between 2 and 12 characters.

For adults aged 18+. By joining you accept the Terms and Community Rules.

Use the chat in your browser

Open ChatGay.online, choose a nickname and you are in. It works on iPhone, Android phones, tablets and desktop browsers, it is light enough for mobile networks, and it leaves no icon on your screen and no installed app that someone else could notice. For many people that last point matters as much as the speed.

Or install an app

If you would rather have the chat as an app, these are available today:

  • Android: the gChat app on Google Play.
  • Windows 10 and 11: the gChat desktop app, from the Microsoft Store or as a direct installer.
  • iPhone and iPad: an App Store version is in development. Until then, use the chat in Safari.

The download buttons are in the download section of the home page.

How a chat compares with a dating app

  • Profiles: dating apps show a profile and photos first. Here you start from a nickname and a conversation.
  • Location grid: dating apps sort people by distance. Here you choose a country room instead.
  • Pressure: a chat room is public and informal. Nobody has to like or match with you before you can talk.
  • History: dating apps keep your profile and chats. With a regular nickname here, your messages are deleted when your session ends.
  • Cost: joining the rooms and chatting is free, with no subscription needed to talk.

Neither is better for everyone. Use the chat when you want a quick, private conversation, and keep a dating app if you want a profile and a photo grid.

Privacy on your phone

Because the browser version needs no installation, nothing about it appears among your apps. Closing the tab ends your session and your messages are deleted. If you share a device, also clear your browser history, and never leave a session open in a shared place.

Good habits when you chat from your phone

  • Turn off notification previews on your lock screen if other people can see it.
  • Turn on discreet mode in the chat settings if you chat in public: it blurs photos and videos until you tap them.
  • Do not accept links or install files that strangers send you.
  • Read our safety tips before you meet anyone from a chat.
